This policy explains what information PuzzPik (“we”, “us”) collects when you use puzzpik.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible.
1. Information stored on your device
Your puzzle progress, times, streaks, theme and language preference are stored in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device unless you sign in. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
We also create a random device identifier in local storage. When you finish a daily puzzle, your time is sent to our server together with this identifier so that we can show how your time compares with other players. It is not linked to your name or to any other website.
2. If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional. If you do, we receive a unique Google account identifier and your given name from Google. We store the identifier, a nickname (initially based on your given name, which you can change at any time), your approximate country (from the country code provided by our hosting network) and your daily puzzle times. We do not receive your email address or password. Your nickname, country flag and times may appear on the public leaderboard.
A signed session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 180 days. Signing out deletes it.
3. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to PuzzPik and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link shown by the consent message.
4. Hosting and logs
PuzzPik is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.
5. How long we keep data
Leaderboard times are kept so that past leaderboards remain visible. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the data linked to your account by writing to contact@puzzpik.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
PuzzPik is suitable for all ages, but accounts are intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
